Tonight's efforts

This Christmas my goal is to focus on PEOPLE and not stuff. I tend to get all wound up with the shopping. And the crafting. All these efforts to do for others ironically takes me away from them. I can't meet a friend for coffee because I am busy making her an elaborate gift. I still have a soft spot for elaborate gifts, but this year I am trying this new idea out. The gift of time. Dinner. Coffee. Girly Christmas movies. I want to celebrate. And spending my time in traffic, in crowded stores or feeling the 'make the perfect gift' pressure is not celebrating.

I realize there are pitfalls. I could get all wound up making the perfect dinner, or shifting from elabarate sewing projects, to elaborate baking. But, it's worth a shot.

So, tonight's project was making the cookies for tomorrow night's gathering of friends. They are simple and yummy and pretty.

Merry Christmas!
