Someone was thinking

I love October. I love how it gets cool and colorful and smells like leaves. People put pumpkins on their stoops. It's that time of the year when you want send people bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils (what movie??).

The trouble with this particular October is the absence of cool air. Yesterday was 80. Saturday was 84. It doesn't yet feel like fall. And I'm ready for it to feel like fall. Well, I found a great solution to this problem.

On our way to the park yesterday we stopped in at our local Cold Stone Creamery. And they had pumpkin ice cream. Pumpkin. What a fantastic idea. I'm sure Starbucks has pulled out the stops on autumn drinks, but it was too hot for a pumpkin spice latte. It was not too hot for pumpkin ice cream. I had the girl mix in graham cracker crumbs, pecans and top it with whipped cream. It was the pumpkin pie substitute for an 80 degree day. Try it.

So glad someone thinks of these things.

I didn't know there was a pie in the sky! I even asked the girl what she recommended (hoping to hear about some pies in some skies) and got a blank look. Sounds like your cold stone is more advanced. ;)
