Happy Balloon Blow Up Day!

The day before Thanksgiving is also Balloon Blow Up Day! Today is the day that the balloons that will be used in tomorrow's parade are spread around Central Park and inflated.

We have tried going to see this several times. I have heard that it is better than the parade itself. Last year we made it all the way to Central Park to see the balloons. But it was raining and we were not exactly sure where in the park to find them and I slipped and fell while I was wearing Andrew in a baby carrier, so, instead, we went home.

Too bad. I would still love to see this!
I found this photo of Kermie on Flickr. I just searched for "Balloon Blow Up Day" and found all kinds of fun. I think that in honor of this special day, you should do it too.

And this is from our Thanksgiving 3 years ago when family members braved the city and my cooking to spend the holiday with us.

Happy Balloons and Parades and Feasting to you!

I'm going to make you jealous then with my news. You know the friend Lauren that you met at our party? She lives right by the Museum of Natural History, which is where they blow up the balloons. Every year she throws a party so people can go and view the fun from her window. That's where Eric and I will be this evening. :)
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

There are some pretty amazing things about living in New York! This is definately one of them. I would love to visit during Thanksgiving sometime!
