uh oh

Christmas brain is setting in. I am sitting here, waiting for these photos to load going through the topics I want to write about and not being able to decide on any. Little funny bits of life running through my mental list of possible blog entries and instead of locking in and focusing on one, I feel anxious and full and happy. Like I've had too much coffee.

Tis the season of excess.

So, until I settle into this Happy Season of Celebration, I will resort to explaining the photos in this post. I know, extremely out of character. Bear with me.

I finished this mini scrapbook today. There is one page for each day, December 1st through the 25th. I stole this idea and ran with it. My plan is to take one photo everyday (well, at least one a day...) and write a blurb about that day. Little bits of the holiday. Today I am feeling overwhelmed with keeping up with this little guy. But that might just be the Christmas Excess settling in. I am pretty good about setting up patterns for these kinds of things. So hopefully it will be a reflective, joyful exercise and not too stressful.

Last Christmas was a little tough for me. I felt lost about advent and how exactly I wanted to celebrate. Andrew was too young to really understand anything. But this year I am so excited about advent and the countdown to Christmas. Sharing, documenting and taking time to think, enjoy, reflect. I picture myself taking a few minutes each evening, sipping hot cocoa, printing off a small photo and jotting down some memories in this little guy. An excuse to slow down. A concrete thing to remind me to stop and enjoy.

Not a bad idea, right?

Love it, Robyn. I totally know what you mean. I have about five things a day to blog about and about 600 ideas for Christmas projects and I REALLY wish we were neighbors because we could make everything together. You should have gotten this post done earlier and submitted it to my fair yesterday. I know a lot of moms who could probably think of lots of adaptations on your scrapbook idea.

I'm rambling and I should go organize my freezer. And why aren't the kids sleeping today?

Not a bad idea at all. :)
When I saw your title, I could hear Andrew's voice in my head, "uh oh." Or actually, I guess he's more of a "ooohhh."

Don't ask me why, but I read your entire blog outloud just now with a Bridget Jones accent. Cheers.

Tara,

Thank you for your comment. I enjoy reading comments you post and I encourage you to read my blog out loud with various accents and keeping us posted which accent worked best.

Today I told Marti you were a punk because you don't comment much. This comment alone launched you out of punk status and a little closer to rock star.

Keep commenting....

I love Advent. Maybe I'll blog every day of Advent to contribute to the season's excessiveness.

That sounds like a great idea, Anne!
