100 words on Summer in Brooklyn

I don’t often venture outside on the very hot days. But when there is a birthday present to mail I strap on Isaac, put Andrew in the stroller and head out into the hot. We try to leave early when it is cooler. But we never do.

As we walk down the street we feel the cool blast from air conditioners as doors open and close. We feel drips from air conditioners that stick out from windows overhead. We take comfort in the air conditioned lobby of the post office, where the wait does not seem so bad after all.

Take the challenge! In 20 words tell me about summer in your neighborhood!

Great description! Here goes mine in 20:

Summer around my town is birds at feeders, lawn mowers roaring, children laughing and splashing pools and trees providing shade.

Kids running around playing, splashing from the pools heard everywhere, the smell of bbq grilling, and me loving it all!

Hot. Hothothot (did I mention the 114 degree day last week?). Lazzzzzy days. Popsicle races (you know. . . where you race to finish your popsicle before it melts down your hand). Ripe tomatoes. Ripe stone fruits--tender peaches and nectarines. Chilled mint tea. Short shorts. Spaghetti straps.

Is that more than twenty words?

Oh well, it's summer. Anything goes.

Love the way you have done the Title 'I Aspire'. A great layout and you kept to the word count.

Walks to swimming holes. Festivals. Local produce galore. Wildflowers. Summer dresses. Naked kids in sprinklers. Mint tea with lemon balm.

P.S. I want to have chilled mint tea with Marti in California. I'd settle for Massachusetts.

Disneyland tourists. Sunny days (no rain). Beaches. Pool sides. Blonde tan boob jobs. Kids. Barbeques. Farmer's market strawberries. Strawberry margueritas. $4.74/gallon gas.

Good idea.

Going for bike rides with Jake in the trailer. Stoping at the park. Picking strawberries and raspberries. Considering myself lucky.

$4.74 for gas?!

Green. Sitting on the front porch surrounded by my flowers. Boating.
Fresh vegetables from our garden.
Weeding. Reading. BEACHing twice.

Gloucester Summer Sounds

the early morning fog horn, the slapping screen door, motors in the harbor, and busy hornets in my blackberry bush.
