finally!

Each day I am able to recognize more and more of Andrew. He's coming back little by little. And I am so relieved and delighted.

It began yesterday. Andrew, as I've told you, loves trains. Loves them. Loba gave him a train set for his birthday last June and I'm not exaggerating when I say that he has played with them everyday since.

Well, I have to say, the trains were getting a little dusty. As Andrew moved in and out of his defiant and needy period, the trains sat neglected in their basket. Well, yesterday, after two or three trips to time out, he pulled out his basket and began. Before I knew it there were hills and tunnels and bridges and sharp turns and straight paths all over the living room. Non-train toys were added as props. And, it would be fair to say that not only Andrew, but Thomas himself, had a wonderful time. And I was swooning from relief.

He was back.

Today we had Mommy School for the first time in a month. We got the trains out again. And, since Andrew was using his creative juices to construct tracks rather than drive me bananas, I was able to get cracking on some pajamas for him and Isaac.

Things are back to normal.
ahhh....sweet relief, how I love you.

Yay! Isn't a relief when these phases end? I'm so glad for you. I also love that when I saw this picture, I recognized your apartment from having been there. (-:

This is the cutest picture ever! I love how the trains go all around everywhere only to end up in the giraffe! For those readers who have never visited you I must reassure them that Andrew is PLENTY warm in your apt. w/o pants!!What a relief to have your Andrew back!

Lucas recognized his yellow train in the picture and was so happy that Andrew was playing with it! (I love that my kid loves your kid.) And of course, the N Train from the party. Our boys never miss a thing.

This is so great, Robyn. Whatever he was going through, he sure wanted to make sure you were paying attention!

I'm curious: Has there been any correlation during these better days between improved daytime behavior and less nighttime sleepwalking?

Oh, have you ever visited www.thomasandfriends.com with Andrew? Though it changes every 6 months or so, it was Lucas's addiction his entire second year.

(Okay, maybe you shouldn't show it to him.)

But I do think the next time we do the Day Out With Thomas trip again ya'll should come. ;)

hmm....night before last we had to direct him back to bed when we were up with Isaac....last night...I don't know. I forgot to ask Dave if Andrew was in his room this morning when Dave got up...

Dave?

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I'll miss Monster Andrew. Who else will pee on me repeatedly with such aplomb? Who else will be so desperate to lock me up in their castle that they'll scream and yell if things don't go their way?

Exhausting, yes. But I always had a sweet spot for a cheeky, charming villain. I'm kinda glad to know that side of him is forever tucked away in his heart somewhere.

But soooooo glad to know your days will be a little more laid back and peaceful now.

Marti, I'm sure that if you need someone to pee on you, I'll be able to find any number of candidates (Andrew, Isaac, Tess...maybe Vanessa's kids...).

so glad you have a soft spot for the cheeky villains!

I love marti's perspective on things. (-: I'm sure ENzo would be happy to pee on Marti, too.

Marti, come on over! Lucas was running around without pants (and underwear - ahem) just before naptime!

Maybe we should start a sign up list!

Marti, I think in order for this to work, you need to move to New York. ;)

Ah, such generosity in the urinary department. I am basking in the love.
