tomorrow
is the Big Day.
The day we've been talking about since all that hubbub, just over a month ago, about his brother. This time, it's Andrew's birthday. It's kinda nice how we each get a birthday, isn't it?
He'll be four and he can't wait. He tells us he wants cake and balloons and a red present. Sometimes he says he wants his red present to be big and sometimes he wants it to be little. And he's always a little vague about what should be inside the present. It's more the color of the wrappings that he's sure about. And THAT, my friends, is from my side of the family.
We are having a small party for him on Saturday. This is the first party that we kept the invite list to folks about his age...and their families. This time, it really might end up to be all about Andrew.
Though, I did my best to decoy the attention with the dessert.

creative and well done!
Very cool. What did you make the stop signs out of? Cake?
no, those are shortbread cookies that I frosted all fancy. ;)
What is the dirt?
It's a chocolate cake, so I just dug up a little of it with a fork and put it in the truck and placed the scooper truck with his scoop down in the cake.
How authentic!
Nothin' but the best, Q. Nothin' but the best.
That is amazing! I love all the little details! Have a great party!
Happy Birthday Andrew!
Andrew is a lucky guy! Has he seen the cake? I'm very curious as to what the red gift will hold... Please keep us posted!
I showed it to him and he said, "WOW!!! That's pretty neat! That's so great, Mommy!"
awwww!!!
OMG that cake is awesome! You did an amazing job!
wow!! That is totally amazing! I am completely blown away. Happy Birthday young man! It seems like yesterday. When I think of your labor I have to go lie down and put a cold rag on my head!
What a fabulous cake/cupcake... installation! :) Did you build the cake holder as well?
Love it, love it! Especially the forklift under the cupcake. Very creative, Robyn! Well done!
It must be fun to have Isaac's birthday right before Andrew's, so he gets a reminder of how fun birthdays are and can really look forward to it.
Have fun!
