concerted effort

In an attempt to make up for my heat induced irritability, I decided that one thing I can do to be a better summertime mom is to make awesome snacks. So, I made ice cream sandwiches. Which turned out to be a lot more work than payoff. Though, I think instead of giving up on this wicked good idea, I am going to tweak things in my favor next time.

The recipe has you make a pan of very thin brownies and then use molds to cut out the shapes. But, the mold isn't very sharp, so it took a lot of huffing and puffing to get those stars cut out. Anyway, this method is not only hard, it wastes a lot of perfectly good brownie. So, next time I think I will cut out the shapes from the dough, freeze the uncooked shapes, and then bake them. That way they will hopefully stay the same shape and be able to fit into the sleeve where the sandwiches are layered.

So, that's my plan. My attempt to make it a good summer continues...
