I'm hooked

So yesterday went really well! I did need a mid-afternoon pick me up (iced tea!) and oddly, I needed more snacks, but it worked out really well. The whole point of getting up so early was to have things done before the afternoon heat hit, but yesterday ended up to be nice and cool. No crazy afternoon heat. And yet, tons of benefits to an early wake up!

1. All day I kept thinking, "woah! I got so much done today!" I love that feeling.
2. I played with my kids more.
3. I did not feel overwhelmed by my every day stuff (a sink of dishes, a load of laundry to fold). I just puttered around and got it DONE.
4. I had much more patience for my kids' antics because I was going at a slower pace and not feeling panicked about getting everything done.

I got to bed early last night (well, earlier) and was up at 5:30 this morning wishing I had gotten up at 5 like yesterday. Well see how long this lasts...

Robyn...I love to get up early. I used to be a night owl but then I was so tired when the kids got up. Now, I get up at 4 and get a lot of work done (I do medical transcription) and plan my day. So, when the kids get up I am almost done and can spend the day with them. Plus, the morning is just so peaceful. It is a great feeling. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Love it! I've found that this strategy doesn't work for me because I just move too sloooooowww in the morning, no matter how much sleep I get the night before. I just don't have that Umph as I do in the evening. This is one of the big reasons we put our children to bed early for the night. It's THE time to do good work and play hard! (At least for me. David just hangs out doing his thing and watches me run around.)

Keep it up, sweet mama! This seems to be coming together nicely for you!
