road blocks

Today has been filled with them. And it's only noon.

1. My attempts at early morning sewing have been sabotaged by early rising boys. This morning, I asked for parental back up so I could keep working, but still managed to make a mess of fabric and thread that now needs disassembling.

2. My rolls didn't rise.

3. My cookies, although delectable, are sort of flat and silly looking. I tried all kinds of tricks to get these babies to keep their shape in the oven, but to no avail.

4. I have a kitchen full of dirty dishes and can't seem to find a speck of motivation to go and wash them.

Here's hoping I can turn this day around and salvage what I can from the remaining hours.

Honestly, today hasn't been all bad. I mean, I still have a cookie jar full of these babies. They may not be the mounds of merriment I was envisioning...but perhaps I am being too hard on them. Word?

i'd be totally happy to have a jar of cookies, flat or fluffy, to dig into on a road blocked kind of day. and the dishes can wait ;)

oh, and i know this is totally random but i saw your list on the side of your blog about finding andrew a dentist. my sister-in-law just found a great dentist in brooklyn after going to a few and this one was magically able to remove a tooth from my 5 yr old nephew without him freaking out. isn't that the mark of a brilliant dentist?

the cookies look great! Jake has been waking up around 5h30-6h00 ever since we turned the clocks back... not funny!

I love a flat silly-looking cooking.

You sewed, baked rolls and cookies before noon. That is amazing. I couldn't accomplish that when I was single and childless. Well done! even if it didn't all turn out.

Robyn, I completely understand where you are coming from! My day has not been all that different from yours.
