birthday season is upon us

Last week I sent out the invitations for Isaac's party. We are having a small picnic at Coney Island with a few friends. I only sent out four invitations, but used the small number to my advantage by really doing them up!

In padded envelopes I sent a pair of sunglasses for each kid and this little booklet invitation. I got the glasses at the dollar store (5 for a dollar!) and the invites were all made with things I had on hand (that trusty Spanish language Bible is being used in all kinds of projects!).

Here's hoping it won't rain!

Tess went nuts for the glasses as soon as she saw them. She walks around clutching them and loves when I put them on her face. :) So cute.

I love the sail boat motif, and the color combination. Making invites for my kids' birthday parties was always one of my favorite things when they were younger.
Thanks for resurrecting that memory.

I can't believe it's been another year already!

So cute, and such a good idea to have a small, intimate gathering. I was thinking of doing something similar for Enzo's birthday.

They are so lovely. What an absolute treat for Isaac and his friends. I have a 2 year old who is nuts for his sunglasses too.

Oh that is just so clever! I wish I was turning two and then I could come too.
Of course I would have to swim across because there are no planes at the moment, but just wait until the wind changes!

Tess liked them so much that she puts them on me laughs and then takes them off me and puts them on herself, laughs more...
