So Glad Life Isn't American Idol

Somehow I have avoided the American Idol craze. Tonight is the second one that I've seen, and wo. These guys are tough, even mean! I am so glad that there is not a blogging or crafting or mothering (yikes!) American Idol. Or is there? I'm sure many have evaluated this show and discussed people's need to see others succeed and fail. But I hate being in the other seat. Being the one evaluated. And it happens all the time. Something we are constantly coping with and trying not to care about...other people's opinions. I do think it gets a little easier as you age. But, geesh, this show is that challenge to the extreme.

Phew. I'm cool.

Right??? uh oh. Wait, let me ask Andrew....

Ok, I'm very cool!

that one guy that looked like castro was AWESOME!!!! it is amazing though how much we do need validation - i know that i crave it just to make sure that i am okay. i realize how little i trust my identity in christ viewing god bigger than people.

Yeah, man. I know what you mean. It seems too abstract to think, "I'm ok because of Jesus" and more concrete to say, "I'm okay because people like me". Ahhh, the journey....
