Sometimes it works

And therefore: sometimes it doesn't.

And there is the inevitable middle ground....

I have been playing with paper and stamps for almost 7 years. My friend got me hooked. It seems over the seven years I go back and forth in thinking whether I am any good at this or not. Most of the time I like what I do, but sometimes I don't. And it's funny how when I don't like what I do, I think, 'I'm not good at this anymore'.

Last night, driving home from a friend's (a friend who not only stamps and bakes, but also makes gourmet ice cream...we're talking 'Watch out, Ben and Jerry") I was thinking about this. I was thinking how when I don't like it, I should consider that maybe this time it didn't work out, but next time it might. Not whether or not I'm 'good' at it, but sometimes it just all comes together. I love it when it all comes together. But, when it doesn't, I need to give myself room for that.

I think that I have been doing this a bit lately, but last night the words behind what I was thinking surfaced.

Anyway, this card that I posted... I think it hits the middle ground. It's funny, because I made two last night, and the other one I liked better. But I liked the photograph better of this one.

There's always something...
