The Great Replacement

'no' has been replaced by 'ok'.

I'm not really sure why. It was sort of a natural shift.

'Andrew, you need to wash your hands.'
'ok.'
'Andrew, it's time for a bath.'
'ok.'

I really like it. I like it because it is still somewhat evident of his need to have some control. Saying 'ok' means he's thought about it, and he agrees. I don't think it is blind obedience. I think it is thoughtful agreement. 'You know, my hands do need washing.' 'A bath sounds great, mom.'

He saves 'no' for the real deal. Like when I insist he not wear shoes when he jumps on the couch. Or suggesting he try the potty once more.
nooooooooo!!!

But a suggestion to put toys away, put dishes in the sink, or get a diaper on?
'ok.'

So glad we agree.

Do the pear pictures mean the bread has pears in it?

Andrew is such a cutie! I love it that he is willing to put his toys away when the time comes, but not wiling to interrupt a good couch-jumping session to remove shoes. Get your priorities straight, Mom!

You are making me hungry for pear and apple cakes/breads. I wish I could have come over for dinner! It would have been well worth it. How did you survive your day without Dave?
