little album

I have been wanting to make one of these for a while. This little album is a week in the life of Andrew. It is a place to write down and remember the silly little everyday things. The toys he plays with. What he eats. The things he says. It's a thorough snapshot of his little 2 year old life.

This is how I did it:

First I painted a blank book. I wanted large blocks of color and strips of another color. I wanted the layout to look a little like paper layouts I do.

I added marker to outline the messy painted lines...so they wouldn't look so messy.

Then I used rub on letters. An A for the front. And for each day the first letter of that day. M for Monday, etc.

And, um, W for Wednesday.

Each day is a two page spread. They each have a piece of 'stuff' (a scrap with Ernie's pic, parts of a take-out menu, etc.), two photos and a list of things Andrew did that day. There is also a little circle paper with a quote from Andrew from the day.

I think I want to do this again in a few months, but somehow have each two page spread split into four and look at all of our lives. Including little Sprout.

But, we'll see.

Ok. Good night.

Wow! I really like this idea. I am also a stay at home mom of a 2 1/2 year old boy...It would be fun for him to have one of these. I have just started to make some cards and I envy your talent! Can I come back to visit your blog and steel some ideas?

I love this idea! Even though you explained how you did it, I still don't quite get it, but then again, I really don't have a creative bone in my entire body!! I love the idea though and maybe I'll be able to manage something like it. It's a great way to remember the little things... the things that in 20 years we may not remember. Love it!
