I have a reason for you to make doughnuts...Fastnacht(Donut) Day! The day before the start of Lent, the Pennsylvania Dutch make fastnachts...it was originally a way to use up the lard and sugar before fasting for Lent. I always celebrate Fastnacht Day with my cousins, but I've never had the time to actually make them.
