sippy cups

Andrew has been using sippy cups since he was about 8 months old. We would first put water or apple juice or soy milk in them. Then at a year he started drinking cow's milk from his sippy cup. I thought the sippy cup phase would be short lived and that he would soon just drink from a cup like me. Nope. Sippy cups are still alive and kicking in this house.

Which means: we buy a lot of sippy cups.

The wonderful thing about them is that you can turn them upside down, shake them all around and they don't spill. So he can have them anywhere. In bed. On the couch. In the car. And I don't have to worry about messes. But. Since he can take them anywhere... we lose them. All of the time.

Sometimes we just lose the plastic valve inside that prevents the spills. That little guy gets lost while we wash dishes. But, we often lose the whole cup.

Sometimes we find them a few days later. With old milk. Or fermented juice. Or, when we are super lucky, warm water. But there have been many, many sippy cups that we have never found.

We brought 2 sippy cups on our trip. The first one we lost in the first 24 hours. But the second one, the purple one, lasted much longer. It lasted until the last day when Andrew launched it off of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I have a feeling that Andrew has been leaving a trail of sippy cups in his wake for a long, long time. And I only now have noticed.

Oh my, I was just thinking the same thing yesterday!! Where do they go??? I just bought 4 extra valves, as they seem to get lost, too. (no idea how???)Honestly, where do they go?

you can buy valves by themselves? Where?!?! I have been looking for a package of valves and I figured the sippy cup companies were too smart to sell only valves.
