carving
This afternoon Andrew and I tackled the pumpkin carving. It was really fun. He is a very funny, though not terribly helpful, partner in carving. As I was cutting the top off of the pumpkin he stood next to me very still. Then when I took the top away and showed him the inside he said, "oh!!! It's messy in there!!"
And just like all messy art projects that I try to do with him, he didn't like that it was messy. He loves mud and dirt and puddles...but pumpkin guts? Now that's going a little too far.
side note: I took these pictures myself! I know, I usually do take most of pictures around here...but not most of the pictures with me in them! I set my camera on the table propped up a little and set it on the timer mode. Then I set it to take 10 consecutive photos at a time in hopes for some good ones. And I was really surprised how well it works. Try it!

So cute and so spooky! Did you bake the seeds? Also, I love the new family pic!!
I will be carving also in the next fee days... I hope you will have great recipes to share so I know what to do with all that gut...
Chris and Atticus made a JEan Simmons jack-o-lantern last night. (-:
I love the picture idea. The only reason I'm ever in any pictures is that I basically force Chris against his will to take some , for heavens sake.
Hilarious! So fun!
We went the permanent marker route instead of carving this year. Although Miss Vicki is making me want baked pumpkin seeds now...
Hi Robin -
We carved today and both Drew and Tyler thought it was "gross" and "yucky". Some how I ended up doing all of the work.
But I am making the pumpkin seeds now, which seems worth it to me.

p.s. I love your cookies at your most recent post. I am not a cookie designer at all either, but I think they came out super cute!
Thanks Steph!
