she made subway cookies.
And she might have done it because it's fun to say things like "I just ate the R train!" or she might have done it to practice her developing cookie decorating skills, but it is most likely that she made them for no reason whatsoever.

I'm impressed. How did you get the numbers and letters to look like they are part of the colored frosting?
Are you working on your city quilt? Is NYC starting to seep into your creative consciousness? :)
I tried out a new frosting recipe. I thinned out the colored frosting with a little with water to make a "fill", but I left the white frosting pretty thick. I outlined the cookies in white and filled them in with color, then, when I put on the letters and numbers that frosting sunk down into the fill leaving a smooth top. Cool, huh?
What no 7, no E or F, I think Queens is being discriminated against! :)
Those of you not familiar with the NYC subways will not get this:)

COOL!!! :) I'm still envious of the cookie decorating class... I bought a book a while ago...but my cookies always end up being bumpy looking, even when I try 'fills.' Waah!
I considered making a 7 because Andrew talks about the 7 from time to time...but then I would have had to make a whole other color of icing. So the 7 was quickly booted. Perhaps you should lobby for more purple trains.
Where's the Q? Are you going to use the color excuse again :)
Nope. Susan, no good excuse. The Q train is yellow. You're right. There should have been at least one Q! ;)
and Eric, nobody rides the E! I don't know anyone that rides the E. I mean, please. Most days I forget there is even is an E!
I thought they'd be to practice for your urban duck baby shower! Put 'em in a plastic baggie with a duck tag for favors! (You like party favors!!)
Or you made them just to make Lucas's day! He told everyone he came across yesterday that he ate a 2 and a 3 AND an R train...
I love your last few banners but today's is so smart aleck-y.
These turned out great!!! Very cool.
Grumbling, hungry E riders may get you one day.
Eric
