playing hookie

Yesterday the whole family played hookie from our regularly scheduled responsibilities to see a little Christmas. We got crepes and ate them in Washington Square park.

We walked around Soho. Well, Dave and I walked around Soho. Isaac and Andrew got rides on shoulders and in strollers.

And it's just not Christmas until we take in the hoopla at Rockefeller Center.

We decided to swing by Macy's and walked through Times Square on our way. We've taken Andrew to Times Square before, but I guess he was too young to care much about it. Yesterday he told us, "These lights are all going crazy!"

It was a great day. I love playing hookie.

Wow! I love New York. I grew up in New Jersey and we went in at Christmas time frequently. Thanks for the memories! What a great day to play hookie!

I've seen those areas so often in films and you are so lucky to have them close to hand.
Looks like you are all well and truly in the Christmas spirit now!

Awesome idea! It makes me want to take the kids up to San Francisco on Monday to see the windows at Union Square. We've never done that, but now I think we will.

Love your pictures! The one of your little man looking at all the lights is especially sweet! I feel the same way in Times Square!

I'm heading to NYC this coming week for Christmas. I love seeing the tree in Rockefeller Center.

Thanks for sharing!

Have a lovely Day!
