It feels like forever

since I've made a scrapbook page. A regular one. Not counting the December Daily.

It felt good to do one today. I kept it simple and let the pictures tell a lot of the story. Saved the fancy stuff for another fancy-sort-of-day.

The journaling reads:
The 4th of July has become less and less about fireworks now that bedtimes are so crucial. By the end of the day we are all too tired to make the effort to see our city's fiery display. Instead we pack the day full of fun with our friends. This year we celebrated with Kirsten, Eric and Tess on Governor's Island, just like last year! We picnicked, rode bicycles, found hammocks to climb around in and got lots of great photos. A great way to celebrate being American. And maybe one day we'll be able to stay up and stay out and see the nighttime action. But for now I really like our Independence Day tradition.

Me too!

I also really like the layout on these pages. Look at me...having an opinion about a scrapbook layout. ;)
