combinations of 4
Today Dave is working from home, so we all walked Andrew to school this morning in what felt like a festive family parade. There was lots of silliness and laughing. And I kept thinking, "I love the 4 of us."
Andrew proudly brought Dave to his classroom and showed him the apple with his name on it that marks his cubby. A very important feature of the room, as it was the only specific thing Andrew made sure to point out.
Then on the walk home we decided to take Isaac out to breakfast at our local diner. And being the 3 of us had such a different vibe to it. When Isaac spilled his juice, it wasn't a big deal because no one else was spilling juice. When we doted on how cute Isaac was and laughed at his babbles, no one felt jealous about the attention Isaac was getting. I kept thinking, "I love the 3 of us, too!"
I've always enjoyed spending one on one time with the kids. And it's also so fun for Dave and I to focus on one of them together from time to time. It goes without saying how much I enjoy alone time with Dave. There are just so many combinations of 4 that I love.

Nice post... :o) I am the oldest of 4 and I remember my mom commenting on how different it was when one of the kids was somewhere else. You're right, it changes the vibe.
Glad to hear you're having a good morning. :o)
So sweet!
And I know what you mean. I love my monthly dates with my hubby but I also love making time for little one-on-one dates with each of my boys!
Make sure to flirt a lot with Dave while he works from home today. ;)
Sounds like your morning is off to a great start :), enjoy the rest of the day too!
I'm with you! When Chris was on vacation, he came to Atticus' preschool and Atticus was so proud to show him around. And then we took Enzo to the Book Mill. It is SO rare for Enzo to get two grown-ups to himself. Enzo still talks about that day.
"Tess-streaking"
*chuckle* :)
So sweet Robyn.
