Photography Week: part 2

When I posted the first part of this project I got a lot of questions about the collage page. To make the collage pages, I crop each photo into a square. Then I print them all (at 1 3/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches) on one sheet of photo paper. I just use iPhoto to format it because Photoshop scares me. ;)

Robyn...I love the layout of your album. Each day is the same but different. You always inspire me to want to do something like this but it always seems so overwhelming. But, when I see how you do it, it seems doable. Thanks!

I love these! Lilacs are my favorite. The collage page is my favorite each day.

This is fantastic! I still feel like a Peeping Tom, but it's so fantastic and fun!!

Did you set up the tripod for that walk on the way to school, or did Dave take that shot? You three are so adorable! I often walk down the street and take a glance at my reflection in a store window to check out me pushing the stroller with my boys. Sort of to get a sense of what others see, sort of to pinch myself for living this life. Lucky indeed.

Jesse does the same thing as Isaac with train books! Dave calls trains "dolls for boys" (though I know plenty of girls who like Thomas trains) because the boys treat them like little friends. These kids!

One more thing: I think you're such a good person to buy lilacs. I steal them from our neighbors' trees (and then walk really quickly away and hope nobody notices). I think I need to work on being a better person about this, though. ;)

P.S. I love that Dave is participating in your project. Such a great team you two make.

I love the way your book is coming along, Robyn! What a wonderful keepsake you are creating.

"Did you set up the tripod for that walk on the way to school, or did Dave take that shot?"

No. Dave took that one. He went in late on Wednesday and helped me out with documenting a huge part of my day. 4 miles, baby. 4 miles.

I love that photo. I love how many buildings are in it and how we are little stair steps (Isaac, Andrew, me: up and up and up). I think you should get a photo of you pushing a stroller! A keepsake!

He's been taking shots in the city with his phone to add a little about his day.

"I still feel like a Peeping Tom" so funny! Why? Are there some photos in particular that make you feel that way?

See what I mean? Team Rice is on it!

I love that photo as well, Robyn! I like the things you pointed out and I also like how urban it looks. So simple yet Quintessential Brooklyn (and Bay Ridge).

I can't tell you how many times I've thought to myself to take a picture while out and about but I never have a camera with me on the days I think to. I can take shots with my cell but I'm not paying for the service that allows me to download them. D'oh! I'll try to take one especially for you. ;)

This is so cute... I am with you on the cleaning thing: a lot of little chores make for a big day!
Great pictures!

are you doing this for just one week? (did you already post that somewhere and i missed it? sorry) i LOVE love love this project and am very inspired.

"are you doing this for just one week?"

yup. just this week. I feel like it's not enough (am I going to get everything?!?! Did I record what Isaac's shoes look like? oh. good.) and too much (what can I possibly photograph tomorrow? my lunch? again?) time. ;)

David wanted me to come back here and clarify that he calls trains "dolls with wheels" (rather than "dolls for boys" as I had commented earlier). I had the right idea but not the right name. Darn gender stereotyping! ;)

Beautiful! Your kids are SO lucky to have this one day. It will be priceless to see life through their young eyes as well as from mom & dad's! Bravo!!
