gearing up
Friday is Andrew's last day of school for the regular school session. He gets two weeks off and then his summer session starts. Back in January, when Andrew started going to school 5 hours a day I felt like I was never going to see him again. But, now that we are in that groove I am wondering what to do with him with these two weeks off. The other moms and I were scratching our heads this morning as we talked about it. And we are just facing a two week break. Most parents are facing summer vacations that will last months!
I'm hoping for lazy mornings, trips to the beach, visits with friends (Susan, you game?), lego and marble track masterpieces and exploring nearby parks. That should fill our time. I'm sure it will fly by and I won't be ready to ship him off again for the summer session.
Today's breakfast: blueberry scones! When Andrew sat down at the table and saw his plate he gasped and said, "thank you, Mommy!" Sure thing, bud.

Same here! Lucas is attending a summer camp for 5 weeks but I've been scheming up big activities (lots of crafting!) for us to do during those few weeks we're all home together. Ack! We'll BOTH need to keep entertained and busy!
YUMMY scones!
I go through this every semester. Before work and my semester starts, I get anxious about the adjustment away from the kids. And when the semester is ending, I get anxious about being home full-time w/ the kids. Funny how change can affect us.
Isn't it great when our children catch us out like that! Those scones look delish, I must say.
Isn't great when their little faces light up at the sight of things that we take for granted?
YUM! We are going to pick blueberries on Saturday! I cant wait to make some muffins or scones!
This is so sweet. From a very early age Carrie always thanked me for things that I cooked for her. Funny, it's not something I ever specifically "trained" her to do, she was just always grateful. Sounds like Andrew is on that same track.
Have fun with school break! I'm sure it will go by very quickly. xo
Well, of course I'd love to hang out but unless you want to come and watch all five kids while I pack I don't think the next two weeks are going to work for a play date. But, hey, you'll need a mom break all the more, right?
Those scones look delicious!
I'm around! Well, not the weekends, but the week days. Let's plan something. Maybe a beach day or a science museum day to enjoy the outdoor space.
