naptime

One of the unexpected joys of Isaac being under the weather is that he has been taking long naps. He's been giving me about 4 hour stretches the last several days and for a boy that will only nap a few times a week on average, this is huge. And honestly? We both needed it.

During one of his marathon sleeping sessions, I puttered around with these photos and put together this scrapbook page. I took my sweet time. I tried out different types of letter stickers until I found just the right ones. I got out my sewing machine and went bananas with my zig-zag stitch (can you see it? around the border, on each photo, little bits here and there...). And I spent a long time at the computer trying to figure out what I wanted to say... though ultimately I ended up with a "this will have to do" feeling about the whole writing part.

Usually I scramble through projects like this hoping to finish and get things put away before the next thing begins. And I think that's fine. I totally get a kick out of squeezing this stuff in. But it was really nice to relax and tinker.

This is lovely! I do like to see a LO with lots of photos on ~ they really help to tell the story.

I love the film strip effect and that zig zagging is perfect for the page.
Make the most of this sleepy time, when he's back feeling 100% he'll be going round the home like a whirlwind again!

Awesome! So well balanced. I love the owl pix and the little element in the upper right hand corner.
Hope you're all feeling better soon.

I'm digging all that zigzag stitch, Robyn! Something about putting paper to a sewing machine seems so non-traditional and funky.

And I love the picture in the middle of Isaac wearing your scarf. (I'm so gonna knit that kid a scarf next winter!)

Glad you had some scrapbook time, Robyn. Your layout is so fun. Makes me wish for snow...it was 110 in Arizona yesterday!

Just found your blog by happy accident and have spent an entire afternoon reading through the backlogs - and now I want baked goods! Totally wish you were my mom...I'm 38...so there's that, I'm just sayin'. Love, LOVE, LOVE the bento lunch idea - for me! Also, great pics of your beautiful family. I so want the lemon angel food cake with the mango sauce!
