almost done

Remember those hexagons a while back? Well, my friends, the hexagon project is almost complete! This is all you get for now, though. ;)

I've learned a lot so far with this little project. I drew hexagons on the white fabric in pencil and then stitched right over the lines, through the batting and back of the quilt, to quilt the layers together. Then I threw it in the wash and the pencil lines came right off. That draw-it-quilt-it method was a first for me and I really like it.

Wishing you lovely weekends all around!

oh! and yesterday we came up short on kangaroos and koalas. But we did find this pair:

And I completely related with this mama. The baby was all over the place. Seriously. She must have saved his life 5 times in the 5 minutes we watched her. She would not let go of his tail and it made me wonder why my babies were not born with tails. Seems like a good strategy to me.
