hexagons, complete

Remember those hexagons that kept cropping up around here now and again? Well, the project is done, the gift given and the secret revealed.

This little quilt was part 2 of my 2 part wedding gift.

Part 1, was the cookies. And the cookies were a huge hit! I loved snaking my way to my table as people sat down. They showed each other the cookies saying things like "I am so excited! I got a cookie!" Unfortunately I really did not get much photos of the wedding. In part because I was not bitten by the must-take-photos bug and in part because I just wanted to relax and enjoy my Blackberry Bramble! yum! The wedding, however, was lovely, lovely, lovely. Beautiful ceremony, beautiful bride, fantastic food and Blackberry Brambles!

I'll confess that I thought up a quilt because earlier in the summer I wanted to sink into something creative. I wanted to play a little with hexagons and embroidery, and having an excuse to do those things was enough push to pull it together. My friend, Emily, loves chickens, and hexagons and chickens go together like chicken wire and coops. So the idea was born.

She can use this little quilt as a table runner or a wall hanging.

And there you have it.
