weekend

So iphoto is still not running at 100%, but it's shuffling along enough for me to get a little something together today.

Yesterday we went apple picking. We went to a farm we've never been to before and it was great. It was small, had honeycrisp apples (among other varieties), pumpkins, cider doughnuts and was only about an hour and 15 minutes away. And while we were out of the city, I could see that fall has come to our area. Trees everywhere were started to change colors. It was beautiful! Sadly, that kind of thing is harder to see in Brooklyn.

It did not take long to fill our little bag. This year both boys knew what to do and were busy little workers collecting apples. They would have collected several bags' worth but we cut them off and had to drag one of them screaming out of the orchard. I'll let you guess who.

Then we played with the pumpkins. While I was looking at the pumpkins thinking of pies and jack-o-laterns, Andrew thought this sorry group needed organization.

And with a little rolling and pushing and pulling he used them to form a maze. (Luckily there were not many visitors at this point in the day...and no one seemed to mind.) I'm not sure which surprised me more...the fact that Andrew made a maze out of the pumpkins...or the fact that I'm still surprised by these things.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I'm glad your blog is up and running again. I love your pictures, especially the one of Isaac under the tree. Just beautiful. We are finally settling into a fall routine too and that does feel really good.
