candy corn

On Saturday Andrew and I made a few candy corn garlands. I loved the idea because I think candy corn is really cute, but tastes terrible, making it perfect for decor. I have since learned that not everyone feels this way. ;) And for those people, I feel sad that you have not had better candy experiences.

We've strung things before, so Andrew was pretty good about working with needles. He stuck himself a few times ("oh! it got me!"), but hey, that's just part of the process right? We learned that thinner needles are the way to go.

And there you have it. Cute and simple. It's going to count for our Halloween banner this year.

What about you? How do you feel about candy corn? Better as decor? or Can't eat enough?

Never tried it, but it does look pretty gross!

Wow, you have a strong opinion about not liking candy corn!

I guess I don't care either way... (I do like the corn better than the mini gourds.) But that garland is darn cute! Way to go, 'Drew!

:o) This answers my question about the garland.

Me on candy corn? It's ok...if it's in a bowl in front of me I'll start munching on it and then can't stop. I mostly like it mixed with salted peanuts. Yum!

I think candy corn is one of the most disgusting confections out there. When I saw your garland yesterday I was tempted to buy some for the first time in my life. I'm just worried that William would taste one and then we'd have to hid the garland from him anyway . . . he's a pretty good climber ;)

I'm with Deb - But we throw in some raisins with our candy corn and peanuts. Ryan's brother used to go through all the candy corn, bite the white tips off and leave the rest. kinda gross but really, really funny.

I'm so with you on the candy corn. Although Hershey's came out with candy corn flavored kisses and those aren't bad. I mean...its white chocolate after all. But in general? A huge waste of calories for almost no enjoyment!

Wow! Love the candy corn. I never buy it cause I'll eat it all. This year it'll be decor for me. I'm going to be "corny" for Halloween. With little corn-on-the-cob earrings and a candy corn necklace. I'm trying to be understated working in Salem and all.

The decor is gorgeous! The garland really compliments the mini pumpkins. I love Andrew stringing the candy. I hate candy corn also but like to mix it in a "gorp"-mix of tiny pretzels, peanut butter mini Ritz, peanuts and M&M's. When I bring this to work, at the end of the day the candy corn are at the bottom of the bowl. (Oh, this gorp has a glaze that mkes it fab)
