Hip Mom, Broken Stroller

This morning I secured Andrew into his stroller, and started out for errands. There are 6 stairs at the front of our building, and I usually bump Andrew down the steps in his stroller. On our first bump down to the top step, the stroller came unlocked and started folding up with Andrew in it. I picked it up, fiddled and tried again. But the stroller, again folded up, smushing Andrew. I think I might have complained were I being smushed in my stroller, but Andrew thought all this was pretty funny. The third try I realized, it's busted. Too much bumping on too many stairs. This stroller has had it.

So, we came in, parked the stroller and walked to the car. We got in my fixed-good-as-new, grown-up car WITH my new hair and headed to the Giant Baby Store for a stroller replacement. It's funny how little moments make you feel good. I like opening my car door and sitting in my car. And now, I flip my hair during the sitting-in-car transition. It's like one smooth action: open, swivel, flip, sit. Can you picture it? I know, very hip.

I, like a good capitalist, love buying things. Love it. I don't really love that I love it, but I do love it. And I hold back a good bit...a least I think I do. I go weeks and only buy food. That's normal, right? I don't have good perspective on that stuff.

Anyway, we checked out a bunch and I found a good one. You know what tipped the scale? This is ridiculous. I used to roll my eyes about this feature....the cupholder. I love having it. Especially when it has a Medium-Iced-Decaf-Cinnamon-Coffee (with Milk and Sugar). And the stroller is light, has a large basket and folds up nicely. AND it will fit the infant seat that fit into our last stroller, if, by chance, another infant should come our way. So, we are set.

After buying the stroller, having someone help me get it to the car, and putting Andrew in his car seat....
I did the open, swivel, flip, sit.

Nice.

*for the record* this is usually where I record my creative endeavors. But, today, was "organize the scrapbooks" day. You know, which page goes where. And that is not really photograph-able. Sorry to deviate. I have big plans for cookies tomorrow. Stay tuned....

Do you think your hairdresser could be in your kitchen between noon and two-o'clock on June 15? I'll even let you feed me lunch.
