Our Nation's Capital
Things I like about D.C.
When I went into a store to do a little Christmas shopping, there were several people happy to tell me where to find what I was looking for. In New York I feel like I need to know ahead of time or it would a giant inconvenience to ask.
The size. Yesterday we went to Union Station...which would be the equivalent to Grand Central Station. We got there in 20 minutes. Walking. It would take me an hour to get to Grand Central in New York, on express trains.
The Postal Museum. I know, right. Not normally top of the list when visiting D.C., but if you travel to D.C. with a toddler you will have a nice break while you watch your toddler go bananas over sitting in the rig of a mac truck.
And not only have we ventured around time, my friend and I have squeezed in quality craft time. I made this case of photos for Andrew. The case has about 22 coaster sized pieces of heavy duty chipboard. I attached a photo to one side and the person's name to the other side. This way he can have daily access to family far away and at least learn their names.
