Rain

It is raining. Hard. I hear it on the windows and the cars are splashing up water as they drive by. It is dark. The air is cool. I love it.

There is something so healing and comforting about these days. Andrew and I made cheesy-chicken pasta for lunch. We are wearing snuggly clothes and I have fuzzy socks on. I put Andrew down for nap with extra blankets and am about to make myself a mug of hot chocolate. For the first time really this week I feel peaceful and settled and I can't help but wonder if it is in part because of weather. It is such calming, reflective, restful weather...when you have the luxury of staying indoors. And I do.

The plans for the afternoon? Andrew and I will have the Friday Afternoon Matinee when he wakes up. And we will eat yesterday's cookies. And snuggle with blankets on the couch.

The only way this could be better is if it were snowing instead.

Your day sounded so comforting- I am glad you enjoyed it.
Also- I love how you so often put images with your post that don't seem to relate to your post in any direct way. I still think you should start a magazine. I'd subscibe.

Robyn - your day sounds wonderful. I love those days especially since our other days are so hectic.

I got soaked by this same rain you mention. I went out for some lunch and tea and then I had to be back to the house by 2 for a meeting. I waited 30 minutes for it to stop pouring, but it never stopped, so I got soaked walking home for the meeting.

It took two hours and a blow dryer and an iron to dry my pants.
