40

Yesterday my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. In Antigua. I think my dad earned his way out of showering my mom with Easter Basket Goodness by taking her to an exotic beach resort. Though you never know with them. They might have been out there on the beach yesterday morning hiding and finding eggs in the sand. In many ways my parents are very predictable. But sometimes they can surprise you.

Congratulations, Mom and Dad. I am so very proud of you. I hope that one day my husband and I celebrate our 40th in similar style.

So while my parents are soaking up the sun, I am spending the day cleaning up after my very sick little cutie. This is the kind of sick that requires lots of laundry. And rags. And relief that I have not had to change my clothes yet. Though, the day is young.

Also, in case you were curious... Yesterday's Easter dinner was great. We had a great time and I did not get even the least bit tired until after everyone left. Andrew may have contaminated the other kids with Sick Buggies...and maybe even a few adults...but hey! I didn't get tired! And being this far along in the game of gestation, you really can't ask for more than that. So I consider yesterday a success.

And today a little stinky.

That cake looks scrumptious! I'm wishing I could eat one of those truffles now. So smart of me to come over on Saturday.

I'm glad your Sunday went well. And so sorry to hear about the new round of sickness. Maybe you've entered that "toddler exposed to other kids" zone of endless bugs coming into the house. Other friends I've known with small children felt like they spent years of their life sick as everyone's immune system caught up. Isn't that a cheery thought? :) You're welcome.

You have this amazing knack of decorating, my friend. That New York bakery has absolutely nothing on you! That cake is gorgeous, and your little cookies are just too darn cute.

I wish we lived closer, that's all I have to say.
