communication

So last night, as both boys are fighting very green and drippy colds, they were sent to bed early. In the same room. Imagine Isaac's delight when we sent in Andrew before he had fallen asleep. Imagine Andrew's delight when he sees that Isaac is still awake. It was not long before we heard giggling. Apparently it's very, very funny when Isaac sticks his legs between the poles on his crib and swings them. Very funny.

Dave goes in to break up the party and Andrew says to him, "I was asleep and Isaac said, 'don't sleep!' and so I can't sleep."

uh huh.

When Dave and I hear Isaac say things like "da-da. ba-da-ba. da." Andrew hears secret plans of bedtime sabotage.

One good thing about these brothers becoming roommates is that it sure is having a positive effect on their friendship. That's what I'm telling myself anyway.

White Cheddar Scones. amazing.

These are just the kind of stories I expected (well, hoped!) to hear about your boys in the same room. We look forward to that same joy when it happens here someday as well! Andrew and Isaac are on their way to becoming fast bff's!

And I always pictured you in my mind baking in an apron. ;)

Your apartment does look awfully big in your blog photos . . .

And did you get a hair cut? It looks like you have bangs in your profile picture. I need a new do.

Remember when that friend-of-a-friend who is a chef was in the area recently? He said real cheddar is always white. So those must be some real cheddar scones, all right. ;)

What a great story!

And where do you get your scone recipes? They look amazing!

And I need to tell you that I can't help but think of your party planning skills today on Timothy's birthday (and feel, frankly, incredibly insecure!)--I'm about to go try to turn the cake into some kind of John Deere tractor while the boys are sleeping. Wish me luck.

That scone recipe is from Passion For Baking...do you have that one, Loralee? A must have. Seriously.

Happy birthday to Timothy! I hope you post pics of the cake on that dusty blog of yours! ;) or you could email them to me...
