autumn weekend

This weekend the boys and I were in Vermont visiting some family and shopping for small and adorable winter wardrobes (one of the greatest ironies I've found living in New York is how hard it is to shop here. I head to New England twice a year to hit the outlets and indulge myself in my love of little boy apparel). My mom, the kids and I spent Saturday at an antique fair in New Hampshire and at seaside naturally occurring playgrounds where the boys scampered over rocks and explored tidal pools. I felt a little like Soule Mama. On Sunday we sent Andrew, who doesn't seem to enjoy spending hours browsing corduroy overalls, to his other grandparents while the rest of us reveled in the glories of outlet shopping. The weekend? Too short, especially this time of year when Vermont is at its finest...but, a smashing success. I now have in my possession a small but tasteful collection of matching pajamas and holiday shirts. It's going to be a good winter.
