well behaved bread

We got our new oven on Friday, but I have not had a chance to get it fired up until today. First thing on my list of "gotta bake it"? Bread.

Bread. Bread. Bread.

I love bread.

This bread, is remarkably well behaved as far as bread goes. It has flax seed, flax seed meal, wheat bran, natural bran (which I found in cabinet behind the, ahem, barley), whole wheat flour and sesame seeds. It's sweetened with honey and molasses. And, it's fantastic.

Oh how I've missed bread.
In honor of the upcoming holiday and the reinstatement of baking rights, I plan on doing lots of baking this week. Be prepared for things to lean a little heavily towards the baking side of things. I can't seem to help myself.

That bread looks perfect. A lovely way to christen your new oven!

I'm glad you found your oven heat to be a lot more even on your bread than mine was on your Easter cookies!

What's the difference between natural bran and wheat bran? Isn't bran just the outer layer of a grain? Enlighten me!

Sorry, Mama V, I meant 'wheat germ'. I looked it up though...bran is the outer layer and the germ is the reproductive little nugget snuggled in the bran.

cool yo.
